SQUADS FOR CLUB MEMBERS
Club Squad is for students who
have the ability and enthusiasm to attend squad training at least 3 times per week throughout the year and participate in
competitions. The Club Squad season commences on May 1 and concludes at the end of March the following year.
Although the emphasis is on training and stroke correction, the skills required for the higher level Swimming & Water Safety Awards available at SWIMMERS continue to be taught. Up to six 90 minute training sessions can be attended per week.
Advanced Squad is for Club Squad swimmers who are striving to achieve a State Short Course or State Long Course qualifying time. Entry into Advanced Squad is by invitation of the Head Coach. Advanced Squad members are expected
to attend early morning and afternoon training sessions and participate in dry land training if age eligible. Up to nine
90 minute swimming training sessions and, if age eligible, three gym sessions can be attended per week.
Top Squad is for swimmers who have achieved either a State Short Course or State Long Course qualifying time. Top Squad members are expected to attend early morning and afternoon training
sessions and participate in dry land training in the gym if age eligible. Entry to Top Squad is by invitation
of the Head Coach. Up to nine 90 minute training sessions and, if age eligible, three gym sessions can be attended each
week. Members attempting to achieve Age National Qualifying Times are expected to attend all of the available training sessions.
