Membership
Membership of Swimmers Swimming Club Inc. is only available to competitors who train or are instructed at SWIMMERS.               (Ref. Minutes 200503)

Membership Prices

Prices for membership of the Club for the 2010/2011 season be set at $115 for swimmers, $60 for recreational swimmers and $22 for non-swimmers.

Committee
 

The Club fees for persons who are serving on the 2010/2011 Committee be paid by the Club.

Age Group Champions

Points:
Disqualified            =   0
Winner                        number in race (e.g. 2 in race, winner scores 2 points)
Other place                (number in race) minus (number of competitors who beat  entrant) (e.g. 5 in race, entrant comes 3rd. Points = 5 - 2 = 3
Beat a record          =   1
 

Eligibility to become an age group champion:  24 or more points.     (Ref. Minutes 200503 and190304) 

Club swimmers who do not wear the club bathers and club cap when competing at compulsory  competitions will have an Age Group Championship point deducted for each swim the correct uniform is not worn.  Club members who wear specialised  bathers are exempt from wearing club bathers. Compulsory club competitions include District  Championships, District Sprint Championships, the 7-10 Encouragement Heats, the All Junior Competition heats, semi-finals and finals, Victorian Age Group Championships (short course and long course), Victorian Championships (short course and long course), National Age Championships, National Championships, and,any event deemed by the Head Coach as compulsory attendance for Advanced and Top Squad members.  (Ref. Commemorative medallions will not be issued to the current season's Age Group Champions.        (Ref. Minutes 071204)


Swimmers will be charging $2 per child per Friday night swim meet.  The club will pay the required amount to Swimmers at the end of each month.        (Ref. Minutes 050510)  


Club Champion

A Club Champion will be appointed by the Committee each year.  To be selected a swimmer must demonstrate over the course of the season
   

  • a positive attitude to training and competition
  • sportsmanship and appropriate behaviour during both training and competition
  • swimming performances which are praiseworthy bearing in mind the swimmer's age and experience
  • a regular and consistent attendance at Club Meets and Club Approved Competitions.

The Club Champion shall be selected on behalf of the Committee by a sub-Committee, the decision of the sub-Committee being based on a 3,2,1 system of voting whereby points are awarded to swimmers on the Monday immediately following a Club Meet.


The votes given swimmers will be recorded in writing and sealed in an envelope with the votes announced in chronological order (as per the Brownlow Medal system) at the annual presentation of trophies.  In the event of a tied result the Club Champion will be determined utilising a count back process where the candidate with the greatest number of 3 votes, etc. will be awarded the title.
 

A swimmer who is a registered member of the Club is ineligible to be awarded the Club Champion title or an Age Group Champion title if the swimmer has during the season withdrawn from Top, Advanced or Club squad membership or from participation in the Club Meet program.    (Ref: Minutes 160307)

A perpetual trophy will be displayed to recognise the current and past Club Champions.

Bob Bayley and David Rees be the persons responsible for voting for the 2010-2011 Club Champion.    (Ref: Minutes 050510)

Club Captains 

Club Captains shall not be appointed.    (Ref. Minutes 200503)



District Delegate

The petrol allowance for the District Delegate be set at $20 per attendance at the District meeting.            (Ref. Minutes 050506)
 



Grievance Officer


This position is created by the adoption of a new Constitution. 
Dolores Barakin is appointed as the Club’s Grievance Officer.  (Ref. Minutes 050510)

Uniform

(a)   Compulsory Club Uniform will consist of SWIMMERS navy blue with light blue bathers, bearing the logo SWIMMERS on the rear;  navy blue SWIMMERS cap;  navy blue polo top bearing the logo SWIMMERS on the rear; and, track suit top bearing the logo SWIMMERS on either the front or rear.

(b)    
Tracksuit pants are optional.

National Fund


The entry fee to club meets be set at $4 with 50c.of each contribution being allocated to the National Fund. (to be used, at the discretion of the Committee, to assist club members who have achieved a National Age or National Open qualifying time and their coach to attend the relevant competition)      (Ref.
